CSC Hall Barn

Hall Barn is a historic country house located in Beaconsfield, South Bucks district, in Buckinghamshire, England. History The Hall Barn estate was bought by Anne Waller in 1624. The house was built in the late-17th century by her son Edmund Waller, a poet and Member of Parliament at various times between 1624 and 1679.

Between 1832 and 1837 Hall Barn was enlarged for Sir Gore Ouseley; these additions were removed, 1968-70, for Lord Burnham to the designs of Thomas Bird, leaving the east and south facades.

Hall Barn was used to store the Wallace Collection and the Rubens ceiling of Whitehall Banqueting House during the Second World War. There is also a medieval moat and fishpond in Bower Wood,.

Hall Barn is located on the southern edge of Old Beaconsfield, high in the Chiltern Hills. The 200ha site is bounded to the north by the A40 London to Oxford road, to the east by the old course of the A355 Beaconsfield to Slough road (pre 1970s), and Burnham Road which spurs off it, and to the south and west by agricultural land and woodland.
